Our Approach to Education
We embrace a four-stage method to ensure our students become skilled, confident, and independent barbers. Here's how we implement this approach:
1. Train: Initially, we provide the barber apprentice with comprehensive training, which includes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This stage is foundational, ensuring students are well-prepared for hands-on practice. (0-400) clock hours
2. Teach: Once the barber apprentice has a solid understanding of the basics, our experienced instructors teach them advanced techniques and styles. Instructors demonstrate techniques, then closely supervise students as they practice, providing immediate feedback and guidance. (401-750) clock hours
3. Apply: In the third stage, the apprentice begins to apply their skills in a more autonomous setting. They perform cuts and styles on volunteer clients in our Student Barber Shop under direct supervision. (751-1150) clock hours
4. Trust: Finally, we instill trust in our apprentice. Having gained substantial knowledge and experience, they are now trusted to make decisions and perform services while being supervised from a distance. This stage is crucial for building confidence and preparing them to enter the professional world. (1151-1500) clock hours

About CLI Barber Academy
At CLI, we have meticulously crafted a hybrid curriculum that seamlessly integrates online and in-person learning experiences. This blended approach not only facilitates flexible learning but also ensures that every aspiring barber has access to hands-on training under the guidance of seasoned professionals.
Our Barber Apprentice will receive extensive training in all hair types in our Student Barber Shop servicing a diverse community of volunteer models. Not only do we have our seasoned instructors to help navigate students, we also have a community of Master Barber Mentors ready to help guide students along the way.
