1.What are the requirements to enroll in CLI Barber Academy? At CLI we require a high school diploma or GED, be at least 17 years old, and social security card.
2 How long does it take to complete barber school? At CLI we have a full-time day class (8:30am-3pm) that is 13 months and a part-time night class(4pm-8pm) that is 19 months. (1500 clock hours)
3. What will I learn in CLI Barber Academy? At CLI the student will acquire knowledge to become competent in the soft skills, theoretical, and practical skills of barbering. The student will learn the CLI Cutting system made to diversify the student's skill set to increase value. And so much more.
4. How much does CLI Barber Academy cost? Tuition is $5975. This includes book, workbook, online set-up, barber kit, & uniform.
5. Does CLI have Financial Aid or any type of financial assistance? CLI does not offer financial aid through the federal government yet, but we have partnered with CLI Community Cares organization to create scholarship offers that pays up to 40% of tuition for students in need.
6. Will I need to take a licensing exam after barber school? Yes, after completing barber school, you must pass a state exam to become a licensed barber given by PSI, our state licensing agency. You must pass a Theory and Practical exam.
7. How does your unique apprenticeship program work? At CLI we offer a unique apprenticeship program that teaches 750 hours of theory, the student then goes to take the state board theory test, after passing, the student comes back to school then learns practical applications in a real-world setting in our student barber shop for the remainder of the 1500 hours needed to graduate, then takes the practical test.
8. What do you mean by a hybrid online/ in-person curriculum? At CLI we've created a curriculum combining online education with in-person instruction to create a very flexible schedule for our students.
9. Do you offer Spanish speaking courses or have Spanish speaking instructors? Yes, we have a Spanish curriculum taught by Spanish speaking instructors.
